Great Blessings Flow To Those Who Trust God and Persevere
Psalm 37 Video Three Part A
My premise for this message is: Does God intervene by His power and with His judgements today as He did with the early church?
The answer is Yes He does.
1. How many times in the bible have we read about the Lord picking and sending someone who defied earthly logic to deal with an issue of spiritual and social calamity? Does GOD choose the least to confound the wise” Is it because He wants them to completely trust in HIM to succeed?
2. As we continue to read Psalm 37 we can see how God’s great blessings were poured out on the faithful who walked in obedience to Him.
3. Why is it so hard for the body of Christ to believe the same God of blessings past is the same God we serve today and that He wants to bless us? Could it be the law versus grace perspective?
4. Could it be faith and trust issues caused by bad theology that compounds unbelief fostering the lack of faith? Have faithless proclamations filtered into the church throughout history creating doubt causing people to stop trusting in God hindering their prayers through faithless proclamations?
5. Did certain church groups just give-up based on one person’s faithless testimony, who then penned a dispensational theology, a cessation theology, that caused many in the church to doubt and rely on self and self thinking? Are some churches proclaiming God will not intervene in their situation – even though – miracles are happening around the world everyday to those who are praying through and believing for victory?
6. I along with so many of God’s children believe today is no different from yesterday in the promises of God and His eternal time continuum. Is the organized religious church watching, listening or just denying because they are locked in the apathy of their organization?
God’s word eternal by His Holy Spirit!
7. Therefore Psalm 37 is eternal because it is the very word of God spoken through His anointed servant King David.
Psalm 37:28 States” For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
The Lord placed this word into my heart: “I AM The Lord Thy God Who Is Justice In The Purest Form. My Judgements Are Pure and My Truth Forever.”
Did you know that everyone who is not cleansed by The Blood of Jesus is not in the righteousness of Christ and is still under the law? Without the application of God’s grace through Jesus Christ there is no forgiveness. Therefore God’s grace which is there for everyone to receive must asked for God to apply it to their life. Those who reject Jesus reject God’s love and grace and blessings. But the Righteous in God through Christ will be blessed.
v.29 The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.
(Israel was under the law. Yet, look at the blessings God poured out on those who loved Him and served Him. How much more are we blessed who are in Christ and are not under the law but live by choice to walk by faith in obedience to The Holy Spirit who leads us and guides in all of God’s truth?)
v.30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. (The Holy Spirit In Us Is The Fulfillment Of This Truth.)
v.31 The law (The Word) of his God is in his (the Godly person’s) heart; his steps do not slip. (The law is God’s written truth that we call the Word of God. For all in Christ – The Holy Spirit brings revelation to and how The Word is to be applied to our lives.)
The Holy Spirit fills the spirit and soul of the believer with His Word of truth.
That means His perfect word as we read it blesses us and teaches us what is pleasing to God. Those who love God will hear and obey. But for those who deny God’s blessings and reject Him are unbelievers and led by the flesh.
v.32 The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. (David had many enemies and needed stay vigilant in prayer. Every evil thing that has happened in the world has happened by people who chose to do the evil they are perpetrating on others. They have no right in any path of thought to do this to others. The righteous do have the right to stop it. Evil has always believed if the righteous are gone they can reign with impunity, not realizing that when the righteous are caught up to be with The Lord the church age ends and the tribulation begins.)
v.33 The Lord will not abandon him (The righteous one) to his (evil’s) power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
v.34 Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
v.35 I have seen a wicked, ruthless man, spreading himself like a green laurel tree.
v.36 But he passed away, and behold, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.
v.37 Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
v.38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.
v.39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
v.40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; HE delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in Him ( GOD).
Christians have to ask: how does this Psalm translate into their New Testament theology?
1. Does God uphold His word?
2. Are God’s blessings revealed to us in His spoken word. Is His word life to us?
3. Jesus, The Word made flesh said: “Believe In God For Nothing is impossible with God”?
4. Therefore, should we say NO to un-belief in our hearts and testify to what God has always done and will do?
I-Timothy 1:12 But I am not ashamed, for I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I am sure that He is able to guard the deposit I have entrusted to Him. 13 Hold to the standard of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit living in us.
King David states: 27 Turn away from evil and do good, so that you will abide forever. 28 For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake His saints. They are preserved forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. 29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
God will intervene if cry out to Him and when He speaks we must walk in obedience to His will.
