May The God Of Hope Fill You With All Peace Believing

The Third Fruit of The Holy Spirit — Peace

Who Knew?
There are 361 scriptures in the ESV translation bible referring to The third fruit of the Holy Spirit – Peace. From Genesis to Revelation, there are 269 scriptures in the OT Old Testament and 92 in the NT New Testament. Do you think that our beloved Creator, God, The Holy Father wanted us to understand what peace was all about? And, how to obtain peace?

Fruits: Love, Joy and The Third Fruit of The Holy Spirit — Peace
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope

When we read the scriptures pertaining to peace it covers a very wide array of wisdom that we can apply to our lives concerning the word peace. If we were to talk about all the scriptures it would take months and possible years to reference each one and apply it to a Christian lifestyle. Peace might make a great word study; however, the scripture I am referring is: the “peace of the Holy Spirit”. This connotes the peace in reference belongs to The Holy Spirit and is a seed gift He would like to give to us, to plant in us, and see blossoming from our lives.

A Foundational Principal: The only way we can know peace is to know the giver of peace— Jesus Christ who gives us The Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:1 Peace with God Through Faith: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 14:7
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit

It’s true we can find or arrange peaceful moments, as defined in the dictionary: freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility: “you can while away an hour or two in peace and seclusion”. And even call for social peace during trying times: “freedom from or the cessation of war or violence… from civil disorder: police action to restore peace”.

However, the peace I’m referring to is “peace that passes all understanding”. A deeper peace, one that is not contingent on us making it happen but rather on faith in God and the pursuit of His presence, the blessing of The Holy Spirit in our lives.

I believe this was the peace Jesus was referring to:
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid

John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”

Mark 4:39
And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm

Mark 54:34
And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease”

John 20:21
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you”

Acts 9:31
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied

Romans 5:1
Peace with God Through Faith: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

This is the common denominator in the above references to peace:

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope

Right now, many in society are experiencing P.D.S / Political Derangement Syndrome?

This is a person who has become overwhelmed by social issues and has let fear grip their heart and soul. Some would say they have lost their mind! In reality, if they are in Christ, they have lost their focus.

For in thee, Oh Holy God, I have placed my trust; let me not be dismayed… Martin Luther penned a song called ‘A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vT6HQ1QaU4

A modern praise version:

We who are in Christ, are to be one with Christ and given to proclaiming His leadership over every area of our lives; we are the anointed ones filled with the power of The Holy Spirit and the gospel truth. If we know Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we have to ask this question: are we living in a manner that reflects Him in all aspects, all we say, think and do? Or– is the flesh ruling our actions? And if so, are soul-ish, fleshy thoughts producing its fruit in our thoughts and through our actions? We have to realize if this fleshy fruit is falling from our limbs that we are in agreement with the opposite of what Jesus wants our actions to be? Many In Christianity have lost their focus and their sight. This is not what the Lord had in mind for His bride.

1) We must never loose sight of the fact that we are

Ephesians 4:1 One in the Body of Christ, therefore as a prisoner for the Lord, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called

And 2) Ephesians 4:22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires. We are called to be a reflection of Jesus Christ

What are the words that are coming out of your mouth? And what are the words being posting on social media? Are your fruits reflective of these five points and The Holy Spirit who dwells in you? If not, repent, stop what you are doing and apply or re-apply these principles:
A. Praying daily
B. Worshiping and giving praise to God for all things
C. Listening to His voice. Remember– His sheep know His voice.
D. Reading His word daily and meditating on its meaning
E. Trying daily to walk in the fruit of His Holy Spirit

Remember: Praise – Prayer – Power – Potential = Fruit

Romans 14:19
So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual up-building
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope

Jesus gave His all, to give us a choice to receive what He loves the most; a relationship with a loving Holy Father God and eternal life.
